Get to Know Me!

For the last few months I’ve been meaning on getting more active with social marketing.  Travis released his Epic Facebook course this week and as a result I’ve decided to open up my personal life even more to my readers/subscribers.  If you’d like to see the “real” me feel free to friend me on Facebook.

Unlike most marketers I don’t have an account just for marketing.  I have one account and you’ll get to see pics of me in some pretty “compromising” times but it’s ok, I want you to understand just how much of a regular guy I am.  I’ve done some really really dumb things in life that I am embarrassed by and some things that I am very proud of.  You’ll see pictures of me as a kid, a teen, and of course as a more mature adult.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do something because of where you are from, who you are, or how much money you don’t have.  I was the guy that was told I’d never amount to anything in life.  I was the guy that lost himself to drugs/alcohol (Going on nine years sober).  I was the guy that was ranked in the top 1% of his graduating class only to drop out with 6 weeks of school left.  Yeah, I WAS that guy but I am not anymore.

I used to listen to the things people told me. I used to believe them when they told me how I was nobody.  I used to let OTHER peopel define who I was.

Now, I know that we are all God’s creatures and we can be whoever and whatever we want.  We all can come up with 1,000 reasons (excuses) why we will fail but I challenge you to come up with one GOOD reason to succeed.  Hold on to that reason and follow it.  When things are tough remember that reason and focus on it with all your energy.

I recently finished reading a few great books that really helped me understand its truly not the destination that matters but the journey along the way.  If you’d like to check them out they are:

Super Rich by Russell Simmons

The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris

Earth School 101 by Alan Arcieri

Please note that Earth School 101 has a lot of what many would call “new age” beliefs in it so if you are easily offended by such things this book may not be for you.  However, if you are able to keep an open mind and respect other people’s views of our world I think the ideas presented are truly powerful even if you don’t necessarily agree with everything they have to say.

Anyway, do me a favor and be my friend on Facebook. You can check me out here:
